Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed the Robovan, a fully autonomous mini bus, at the “We, Robot” event. This multi-purpose vehicle can transport large groups, suitable for both passenger and cargo transportation. Musk emphasized Robovan’s potential to redefine group travel and logistics.
The Robovan expands Tesla’s autonomous vehicle lineup, previously focused on individual and small-group transportation. Alongside the Robovan, Tesla introduced the Cybercab, a fully autonomous robotaxi without steering wheels or pedals. Musk highlighted Tesla’s commitment to artificial intelligence and autonomous driving.
Tesla’s autonomous ambitions include making unsupervised, full self-driving capable vehicles available in Texas and California by next year. The Cybercab, optimized for full autonomy, will begin production in 2026. Wireless charging, a long-teased feature, adds to Tesla’s focus on convenience and futuristic technology.
The Robovan’s launch date and production timeline remain uncertain, but its introduction signals Tesla’s expansion into the mass travel segment.
