The global economic slowdown, along with reduced participation of companies and the impact of AI, has contributed to the decline in job opportunities for IIT students. Some companies have offered salaries as low as Rs 60,000-80,000, further exacerbating the situation. Additionally, the absence of prominent companies like FAANG has added to the challenges faced by students seeking employment.
Despite efforts from placement offices and students actively seeking opportunities through job portals and attending job fairs, a significant portion of IIT students, particularly those in BTech+dual degree programs, are yet to secure offers.
