ICICI Bank announced the resignation of Bijith Bhaskar, who served as the head of divisions such as cards, payment solutions, e-commerce ecosystem, and consumer finance. Bhaskar’s departure marks the end of his 21-year journey with the bank, during which he held pivotal roles in shaping its operations.

The resignation, officially accepted by the bank, was driven by purely personal reasons, as stated by Bhaskar in his resignation letter. While he did not delve into specifics regarding his future endeavors, Bhaskar clarified that his decision was not influenced by any professional dissatisfaction.

Last month, ICICI Bank faced a data glitch affecting around 17,000 newly-issued credit cards, which were inadvertently linked to wrong accounts in the bank’s digital systems. Despite this incident, there were no reports of card misuse, and the bank swiftly rectified the error.
