Mercedes-Benz has launched the sixth-generation E-Class long-wheelbase (LWB) in India, with prices starting at Rs 78.5 lakh for the E 200 petrol model. The E 220d diesel variant is priced at Rs 81.5 lakh, while the top-end E 450 4Matic costs Rs 92.5 lakh.
The new E-Class boasts an updated exterior design, featuring a larger grille, new LED headlights, and flush door handles. The interior has also been revamped, with a focus on rear-seat comfort, including reclining seats, thigh support, and neck pillows. The cabin also features a 14.4-inch central screen and a 12.3-inch instrument panel.
In terms of performance, the E-Class offers three engine options: a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine (381 hp), a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine (204 hp), and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine (197 hp). All engines are paired with a mild-hybrid system and a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The new E-Class also prioritizes safety, featuring a front center airbag and Level 2 driver assistance features. Additionally, the vehicle has been tested for safety in Spain and Germany and comes with specially tuned suspension for Indian roads. Deliveries for the E 200 begin this week, with the E 220d available from Diwali and the E 450 from mid-November.
