Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani highlighted the significance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in achieving India’s vision of becoming a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047. Speaking at India Mobile Congress 2024, Ambani emphasized AI’s potential to transform key sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, and education.
Ambani envisioned India as a global hub for both manufacturing and services, leveraging AI to boost productivity in SMEs, optimize resource utilization in agriculture, and make quality healthcare and education accessible to all. He praised the government-industry partnership, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and leadership for delivering modern services to over 1.45 billion Indians.
Ambani also stressed the importance of updating India’s data policies to support AI growth. He suggested incentivizing AI and machine learning data centers in India and ensuring Indian data remains within the country. With India’s rapid digital transformation, Ambani expressed optimism about the country’s potential in the upcoming 6G era.
Ambani’s call to action emphasizes the need for a comprehensive AI strategy focused on self-reliance, integrating AI across industries to create a more efficient and inclusive economy.
