Vedanta has announced a massive investment of over Rs 1 lakh crore in Rajasthan, spanning multiple business verticals. The investment aims to boost economic development, create jobs, and support import substitution. Hindustan Zinc will invest Rs 30,000 crore to double zinc capacity, while Cairn Oil & Gas will invest Rs 35,000 crore to augment oil production.
Serentica Renewables will invest Rs 50,000 crore to develop 10,000 MW renewable power capacity, ensuring green manufacturing and energy transition. Additionally, Vedanta will set up an industrial park near Udaipur to support small and medium-scale industries. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma met Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal to discuss the investment plans.
The investment will have a significant impact on Rajasthan’s economy, creating over 2 lakh jobs and developing 500 downstream industries. Vedanta has already invested over Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the state, with Hindustan Zinc and Cairn Oil & Gas operating majorly in Rajasthan.
