Reliance Jio has announced the launch of two new mobile apps, JioSafe and JioTranslate, in India. JioSafe is a communication app that offers quantum-secure calling, messaging, and file transfer capabilities, aimed at providing security to personal and business communications. On the other hand, JioTranslate is an AI-powered multi-lingual communication app that can translate voice calls, messages, text, and images.
Both apps are designed to provide high-quality services to Jio users in India. While JioSafe is priced at Rs 199 per month, JioTranslate is available for Rs 99 per month. However, Jio has announced that users can get both apps for free for a year. This move is seen as a step towards driving sustainable growth through investments in 5G and AI technology.
The launch of JioSafe and JioTranslate comes alongside a significant tariff hike by Jio, with prices increasing by up to Rs 600. The cheapest recharge plan is now available at Rs 19, about 27% higher than the previous price. Airtel has also followed suit, increasing the prices of its plans from July 3, 2024.
