  • Humane warns AI Pin users to stop using the charging case due to a fire hazard.
  • The issue is linked to certain battery cells, not the hardware design.
  • Affected customers are offered two free months of subscription service.

Humane, the company behind the AI-powered wearable “AI Pin,” has issued an urgent safety warning. Customers are advised to stop using the provided charging case immediately due to a potential fire hazard linked to certain battery cells. This issue does not affect the AI Pin itself, its magnetic Battery Booster, or the charging pad.

In an email to users, Humane explained that the problem was identified after a report of a charging issue involving a third-party USB-C cable and power source. The company has since disqualified the third-party vendor responsible for the faulty battery cells and is searching for a new supplier to maintain their quality standards.

Humane is offering affected customers two free months of their subscription service, crucial for most of the AI Pin’s features. However, it is unclear if replacement charging cases will be provided. The company promises to share more information once their investigation is complete. Despite the urgency, Humane has yet to address this safety concern on their website or social media channels.
