Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are driving the demand for fresh talent in the tech industry, offering entry-level candidates salaries that are significantly higher than industry standards. According to a study by TeamLease Digital, GCCs are paying up to 30% more for in-demand skills, with fresher hiring expected to grow 40% year-on-year.
The IT services sector is also optimistic, anticipating 20-25% growth in fresher recruitment. Mid-level roles, such as project managers and data scientists, are experiencing stable demand, with salary increases ranging from 7.89% to 10.2%. Senior management roles have seen a 21% rise in demand, driven by the need for expertise in data engineering, product management, and DevOps.
The study highlights the importance of upskilling, with 63% of tech employees not having upskilled last year. Platform-specific certifications, particularly in AWS and Microsoft Azure, are in high demand. India is expected to require over two million cloud professionals by FY25, underscoring the need for continuous skill development.
