Zomato has introduced a new feature allowing customers to pay in cash and credit the leftover balance to their Zomato Money account. This innovation makes cash transactions as seamless as digital ones. CEO Deepinder Goyal announced the launch, acknowledging BigBasket as the inspiration behind the feature.
The feature addresses the inconvenience of finding exact change during cash on delivery orders. Customers can now pay in cash and ask the delivery partner to credit the balance amount to their Zomato Money account. This balance can be used for future delivery orders or dining out, enhancing the overall customer experience.
Goyal praised his team, including three delivery partners turned product managers, for pushing the feature’s development. The internet has positively received the feature, with users commending Zomato for its customer-centric approach and willingness to learn from others.
