This move aligns with the Delhi government’s EV Policy 2.0, which aims to electrify all bike-taxis by 2030. Rapido has already started this transition, with 25% of its bike-taxi services in Delhi currently electric.
The company is working with original equipment manufacturers and fleet operators like Zypp Electric and Gogoro to achieve this goal. Rapido’s CEO, Arvind Sanka, stated that the company will initially focus on Delhi and then expand to other states. This move will not only help reduce carbon emissions but also give Rapido a first-mover advantage in the bike-taxi sector.
