Mahindra has launched its new SUV, the XUV 3XO, priced under 10 Lakh in India. R Velusamy, President of Automotive Technology and Product Development at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, discussed the car’s design, features, and pricing in an interview with Tech Today’s Aayush Ailawadi.
The XUV 3XO, referred to as the “baby XUV700” due to its similar design, comes with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) that include radar, sensors, and cameras. These features help ensure safety by warning drivers of potential hazards, similar to the more expensive XUV700.
Available with three engine options—a 1.2-litre petrol, a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel—the XUV 3XO offers a powerful yet smooth driving experience. The suspension system, equipped with a soft mould to absorb shocks, provides a comfortable ride on bumpy roads.
The XUV 3XO is packed with features such as projector headlamps, LED DRLs, alloy wheels, a sunroof, leatherette seats, dual-zone climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a 360-degree parking camera. Higher variants include even more advanced features like a digital instrument cluster and level-2 ADAS. Velusamy emphasized that bundling these technologies helps keep the car affordable, aiming to disrupt the market.
