Flipkart, the e-commerce giant, has launched its quick commerce service, Flipkart Minutes, in Bengaluru. The service promises rapid delivery of products in 8-16 minutes, competing with other players like Zomato-owned Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto. Flipkart Minutes is currently available in select areas of Bengaluru, including HSR and Bellandur.
The launch of Flipkart Minutes marks a significant move by Flipkart to tap into the growing quick commerce market. The company has been piloting rapid delivery services in the past, but this time, the format is expected to be different. Flipkart has also given additional responsibilities to insider Hemant Badri to lead the company’s quick commerce ambitions.
Flipkart Minutes offers free deliveries for orders above Rs 99 and collects a platform fee of Rs 5. The service also offers a unique feature allowing customers to cancel or refuse to collect items at the doorstep if the order doesn’t meet expectations. This feature is not currently offered by other quick commerce players.
