Elon Musk has issued a strong warning in response to Apple’s new partnership with OpenAI, threatening to ban Apple devices at his companies if ChatGPT is deeply integrated into Apple’s operating systems. Musk cited security concerns, calling such integration “an unacceptable security violation.”
This announcement follows Apple’s introduction of “Apple Intelligence,” a suite of AI-powered features in iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. Apple Intelligence uses Apple silicon to enhance language and image understanding, streamline tasks, and provide personalized assistance, all while ensuring user privacy through on-device processing and secure cloud infrastructure.
Despite Apple’s reassurances, Musk remains skeptical. He stated that visitors to his companies would need to check their Apple devices at the door, where they would be stored in a Faraday cage to prevent any potential security risks.
