In a move to enhance user experience and provide savings on dining experiences, Zomato has introduced a new feature called “Shake it to make it.” This feature allows users to avail daily dining discounts of up to 50% off simply by shaking their mobile devices. Available on the Dining tab within the Zomato app, this feature is currently operational in major Indian cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and more.

Zomato’s “Shake it to make it” feature not only offers users savings but also adds an interactive element to the dining experience. To promote this new feature, Zomato organized an interactive offline event at Worldmark Gurgaon, showcasing the concept of shaking for discounts in real-time. The company aims to merge technology with exclusive offers to enhance user experience and engagement.

In tandem with introducing user-friendly features, Zomato has adjusted its revenue strategy by increasing the platform fee by 25%, bringing it to Rs 5 per order. This flat charge, first introduced at Rs 2, has seen gradual increments aimed at improving the company’s margins and driving towards profitability. Additionally, Zomato has temporarily suspended its Intercity Legends service, which offered inter-city food delivery, to undergo enhancements. The company plans to relaunch the service soon, urging customers to stay tuned for updates.
