The outage, which lasted for approximately an hour, led to the hashtag #WhatsAppDown trending on social media platforms. WhatsApp users reported issues with making calls and accessing features like Updates and Communities. Similarly, Instagram, another Meta-owned platform, registered over 2000 reports of outage. The disruption extended to Facebook and Messenger, affecting users across different global markets.
