MG Motor India and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) have joined forces to expand and enhance India’s EV charging network. This strategic partnership will see the installation of 50kW/60kW DC fast chargers at key locations on highways and in cities across the country.

The collaboration aims to provide greater convenience for electric vehicle users, making long-distance and intercity travel more feasible. The new charging stations will support all EVs compatible with the CCS 2 charging standard, including the MG ZS EV. These chargers will be accessible to MG customers through the MyMG App and the HPCL network discovery tool.

Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer at MG Motor India, emphasized the importance of a robust EV ecosystem for a successful transition to electric mobility. He noted that MG is committed to creating a comprehensive network of EV charging stations and sustainable solutions like battery recycling and second-life options.

Rajdip Ghosh, Chief General Manager of Highway Retailing at HPCL, highlighted HPCL’s commitment to sustainability and green energy. He stated that HPCL plans to install 5000 EV charging stations by December 2024 and that the partnership with MG Motor India will help increase the utilization of these chargers.
