Unitech is set to receive environmental clearance for its projects in Noida’s Sectors 96, 97, and 98, sources have confirmed. The clearance, expected as early as this Thursday, will enable the company to begin construction, providing relief to over 6,000 homebuyers who have been waiting for their homes for over a decade.
The company has 471 acres of land in Noida for its three major projects, with plans approved for 166 acres in the first phase. Construction is expected to begin in Sector 96 in September, following the final clearance from the UP State Pollution Control Board. Under new management led by Y S Malik, Unitech has already begun construction in Sector 113, after securing environmental clearance and CTE.
The company is yet to receive approvals for parts of its projects in Sectors 96-98, 113, and 117, and will inform the Supreme Court and seek directions for the development of these projects. Unitech reported a consolidated net loss of ₹1,206 crore in the first quarter of FY25, with total income declining to ₹84.04 crore.
