Together Fund, a venture capital firm specializing in software-as-a-service (SaaS) investments, has appointed Lakshmi Shankar as general partner. Shankar, former VP of product strategy at Google, will head the firm’s San Francisco office and focus on early-stage investments in AI startups in the US-India corridor.
Shankar’s addition aims to expand the fund’s investment reach into the US market. Together Fund was launched in 2021 by founders and operators, including Girish Mathrubootham, co-founder of Freshworks, and Manav Garg, founder of Eka Software. The firm focuses on building and scaling globally successful SaaS companies, emphasizing a “founder-first” philosophy.
Together Fund recently announced a second fund worth $150 million, focusing on AI startups. The firm typically invests in the seed, pre-Series A, and Series A stages. With Shankar’s expertise, Together Fund aims to continue performing exceptionally well and creating significant growth and market impact.
