Sunita Williams, the Indian-origin astronaut currently aboard the International Space Station (ISS), received a unique birthday gift from Saregama, a renowned Indian music company. To celebrate her 59th birthday, a constellation of Indian singers and celebrities came together to perform a special rendition of the iconic birthday song, “Bar Bar Din Ye Aaye.”
The heartwarming video features personalized messages and performances from prominent figures in the Indian entertainment industry, including Karan Johar, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Hariharan, and Neeti Mohan. Veteran actor Jeetendra Kapoor, who starred in the original music video, also added his birthday wishes. Other musical icons like Shankar Mahadevan and Anup Jalota joined in, making the celebration truly special.
Sunita Williams and fellow astronaut Barry Wilmore are expected to return to Earth in February 2025 aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, after an extended stay on the ISS due to technical glitches with the Boeing Starliner. Meanwhile, fans can join the celebration by creating their own birthday wishes using the hashtag #HappyBirthdaySunita.
