Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently met with top US tech CEOs, including Google’s Sundar Pichai and Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen, in New York. The roundtable discussion, anchored by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), aimed to foster collaborations in cutting-edge fields like semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and biotechnology.
Modi highlighted India’s growth potential and encouraged US companies to explore opportunities in the country’s expanding digital and technology sectors. He also coined the term “American-Indian spirit” as the new global AI force, saluting the Indian diaspora’s contributions.
Other prominent attendees included IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su, and Moderna Chairman Noubar Afeyan. Modi’s next stop is the “Summit of the Future” at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where he will deliver a speech before returning to India.
The meeting demonstrates India’s commitment to innovation and its desire to collaborate with global tech leaders. With Modi’s emphasis on India’s rising role as a global innovation hub, this meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening India-US tech ties.
