Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has emphasized the importance of global cooperation in technology despite evolving geopolitical challenges. Speaking in Hong Kong, Huang expressed optimism about international scientific collaboration, even as the U.S. considers stricter export controls under the Trump administration. He assured that Nvidia will balance regulatory compliance with its mission to innovate and serve worldwide customers.
Huang addressed the impact of export restrictions on Nvidia’s operations, particularly in adapting its products for the Chinese market. Despite these challenges, he highlighted AI’s transformative potential to solve global issues, such as designing better wind turbines and creating materials for energy storage. He also proposed deploying AI supercomputers near sustainable energy sources to reduce environmental impacts.
Speaking at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he received an honorary doctorate, Huang described the rise of AI as a “new computing era” set to revolutionize industries and sciences. Encouraging graduates, he said, “The world is reset, and you’re at the starting line with everyone else,” urging them to embrace opportunities in this AI-driven age.
