  • The group plans to invest over $30 billion in data centers and energy projects.
  • Aims to raise up to $100 billion to meet the rising need for AI power.

Nvidia and Elon Musk’s xAI have partnered with Microsoft and BlackRock to improve AI infrastructure in the United States, the companies said on Wednesday. This team, now called the AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP), wants to make AI stronger as countries race to lead in this fast-growing tech. The group started last year and is focused on building data centers and energy setups to run advanced AI tools like ChatGPT. They’ve already got a lot of interest and money from people wanting to join, though they haven’t shared exact numbers yet.

The AIP is working to gather up to $100 billion by getting funds from investors, companies, and loans. Nvidia, a big name in making AI chips, will keep helping as a tech advisor. The group also includes MGX from Abu Dhabi and BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners. This push comes just two months after U.S. President Donald Trump announced Stargate, another huge AI project with SoftBank, OpenAI, and Oracle, planning to spend up to $500 billion, starting with $100 billion soon.

The need for better AI infrastructure is growing because training big AI models and handling tons of data takes a lot of computer power. Nvidia’s special chips are key for this, and they’re used in big groups inside new data centers built just for AI. With this partnership, the U.S. aims to stay ahead in the global AI race by making sure it has the tech and energy to support the future of artificial intelligence.
