Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, has made a bold move by ending work-from-home and shifting to a 5-day in-office workweek. In an internal email shared on LinkedIn, Pei explained that this change is crucial for the company’s long-term goals, which include becoming a generation-defining tech company.
Pei acknowledged that remote work has become popular since the pandemic, but believes that Nothing’s unique needs require a different approach. He highlighted three key reasons for the shift: collaboration on physical products, driving creativity and innovation, and maintaining high ambition and speed.
While flexibility will still be allowed for certain roles and employees, Pei emphasized that the company is “for grown ups” who can adapt to the new policy. The shift is set to take effect in two months, with Pei planning to address any concerns in an upcoming Town Hall meeting.
