Neuralink aims to empower individuals with paralysis and enhance their autonomy with its high-performance interface.
Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface company, has reported encouraging progress with its second brain chip recipient, Alex. The implant has enabled Alex to improve his ability to play video games and learn computer-aided design (CAD) software. This follows the success of the first recipient, who achieved “telepathic control” of digital devices.
Musk is optimistic about the future of Neuralink, predicting hundreds of implants in the next few years and millions within a decade. The company plans to expand the chip’s capabilities to interact with the physical world, allowing users to control robotic arms or wheelchairs and enhancing their independence.
