NASA astronaut Sunita Williams is set to share her experiences from the International Space Station (ISS) during a live press conference on September 13. Williams, along with fellow astronaut Barry Wilmore, will answer questions from NASA’s Johnson Space Center newsroom in Houston.
The press conference comes after the duo’s extended mission in space, following their June launch on Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft. Due to technical issues with the spacecraft, NASA decided to return the Starliner to Earth uncrewed, and Williams and Wilmore will now stay on the ISS until February 2025.
Williams and Wilmore will discuss their ongoing work as part of the Expedition 71/72 crew, their experiences during the Starliner mission, and what lies ahead in their extended stay. Their return to Earth will be aboard SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft, highlighting NASA’s collaboration with private companies for safe and efficient space travel.
As a veteran astronaut, Williams has already logged significant time in space, and her current mission marks another milestone in her distinguished career.
