NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, currently on a space mission, shared her heartfelt sentiments about the things she misses most. In a recent press conference, Williams expressed her longing for her two dogs, friends, and family, who have been apart from her for almost four months.
Williams nostalgically recalled her daily routines on Earth, particularly taking her dogs for early morning walks and enjoying the sounds of nature. She also misses the vibrant autumn foliage of New England. Despite the distance, Williams remains connected to her loved ones and finds comfort in sharing her experiences through journaling.
Journaling has become a cherished activity for Williams during her time on the International Space Station. She writes weekly recaps, sharing her unique experiences and the “world-class work” being done in space. This helps her stay connected to people back on Earth and provides insight into life as an astronaut.
Williams and fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore are set to return to Earth in February 2025 aboard SpaceX Crew-9. Until then, they will continue their critical work on the International Space Station, with Williams documenting her journey through her journal entries.
