The land acquisition is part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to strengthen its footprint in India’s tech landscape. The company already has a solid presence in the country, with data centres in Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai. This new investment will help Microsoft increase its tech infrastructure and support its growing operations in India.
Microsoft employs over 23,000 people across India, supporting various departments such as sales, research, development, and customer support. The company is also committed to skilling initiatives, launching the “ADVANTA(I)GE INDIA” program in 2024 to equip 2 million Indians with AI and digital skills by 2025.
