Apple has launched the first batch of iPhone 16 Pro Max models manufactured entirely in India. This marks a milestone in Apple’s localisation efforts, as it’s the first time the flagship Pro Max model has been fully produced in the country. The iPhones are made at Foxconn’s Chennai plant, aligning with the Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max features a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display, A19 Bionic chip, and a triple-camera system with a 48MP main sensor, offering cutting-edge technology and premium design. Prices in India start at ₹1,59,900 for the 256GB variant, going up to ₹2,29,900 for the 2TB model.
These made-in-India units display “Country of Origin: India” on the box, ensuring faster availability for Indian consumers while maintaining the same high-quality standards as globally produced models. Apple’s investment in local manufacturing and expanding retail stores highlights its commitment to India as both a key market and a manufacturing hub.
