JSW MG Motor India is set to enter the luxury segment with the launch of two new vehicles in 2025. The company’s Chief Growth Officer, Gaurav Gupta, announced that the new vehicles will be part of the ‘MG Select’ brand, which will cater to the growing demand for accessible luxury in India.
MG Select will focus on bringing in fresh platforms and products, including plug-in hybrids, hybrids, and electric vehicles. The brand will not limit itself to SUVs and will offer different body styles to cater to various customer requirements. The company plans to introduce four new EVs in the next two years.
The luxury car segment in India accounts for just 1% of the overall market, but JSW MG Motor sees significant growth opportunities. The company’s existing models, including Hector and Windsor EV, will continue to be sold through the current sales network. MG Select will operate through exclusive experience centers in 12 cities across India.
JSW MG Motor’s foray into the luxury segment is strategic, given the increasing demand for premium vehicles in India. With MG Select, the company aims to provide new-age customers with accessible luxury options. The first two vehicles under the brand are expected to launch in the first quarter of 2025.
