Indian IT giant Infosys has taken a significant step into the space technology sector with a $2 million investment in Bengaluru-based startup GalaxEye. This investment, made through Infosys’ Innovation Fund, marks a strategic partnership to develop innovative space technology solutions.
GalaxEye, founded by five IIT-Madras students and alumni in 2021, has gained attention for its cutting-edge work in space technology. The startup’s satellites are designed to capture high-resolution images using radar and optical sensors, enabling all-weather data collection. This technology has applications in defence, agriculture, disaster management, and urban planning.
The investment will support GalaxEye’s launch of its first satellite, Drishti Mission, in 2025. The startup is also collaborating with drone maker ideaForge to develop radar payloads for drones, which have critical applications in defence. Infosys believes that space technology, combined with AI and analytics, can help industries make better data-driven decisions.
With this partnership, Infosys aims to develop valuable business solutions globally. The investment follows GalaxEye’s recent $6.5 million funding round and demonstrates Infosys’ commitment to supporting innovative deep tech startups through its Innovation Fund.
