The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a high-severity warning for Google Chrome users in India, alerting them to multiple vulnerabilities that can be exploited by hackers. These vulnerabilities affect Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems and can allow remote hackers to execute arbitrary code on the user’s system, steal personal information, and bypass device security.
To stay safe, users should immediately update Google Chrome to the latest version (127.0.6533.88/89 for Windows and Mac, and 127.0.6533.88 for Linux). This can be done by clicking on the three dots menu in the top right corner of Chrome, going to Settings, and updating Chrome.
This warning comes after recent alerts for Android smartphone users and Apple device owners regarding multiple vulnerabilities. To avoid hacking and cyber threats, it’s essential to keep devices and software up-to-date with the latest security patches.
