Google Meet’s latest feature is a game-changer for multitaskers. The AI-powered note-taking tool allows you to focus on the meeting while the AI handles note-taking. This feature is available to Google Workspace customers and aims to make it easier to catch up on meetings by summarizing discussions.
The feature works by automatically generating notes in a Google Doc, which is then sent to the meeting organizer and participants. This ensures that even if you miss a meeting, you can easily review the main points discussed. However, concerns about the accuracy of the AI-generated notes arise, as users have reported issues with Google Meet’s transcription tool.
To activate the feature, users can click on the pencil icon in the top right corner of the Google Meet interface. The tool also offers a summary of what you missed if you join a meeting late, allowing you to catch up quickly without disrupting the ongoing discussion. Google plans to complete the rollout of this feature to all Google Workspace customers by September 10, 2024.
