Google is expanding its innovative “Circle to Search” feature, now rebranded as “Search with Google Lens,” to Chrome and ChromeOS. This AI-powered tool allows users to quickly find relevant information based on what they see on their screen. Initially launched on Samsung’s Galaxy S24 smartphones, the feature is now available in beta versions of ChromeOS 127 and Chrome 128 for Windows and macOS.
To access “Search with Google Lens” on Chrome, users can select an area on their screen from the three-dot menu, triggering an instant search with results displayed in a side panel. On ChromeOS, the Google Lens icon in the address bar provides the same functionality. This feature makes it easy to search within videos, livestreams, or images on webpages, providing answers right in the tab.
The name change might take some getting used to, but the underlying technology remains the same – a powerful AI tool that enhances the search experience. Once the beta versions transition to the stable channel, “Search with Google Lens” will become widely accessible to all Chrome users, making it easier to find information and continue browsing with new knowledge.
