The company plans to consolidate operations in its own buildings
Cognizant, a leading tech company, has put its Chennai headquarters up for sale. The property, located in the IT Corridor, is expected to fetch between Rs 750 crore to Rs 800 crore. The 15-acre land parcel and 4 lakh sq ft office space has been Cognizant’s India HQ for over two decades.
The company has roped in international property advisors JLL to sell the prime property. Several prospective buyers, including local developers, have shown interest. However, the deal is yet to be finalized. Cognizant plans to move its India HQ to the MEPZ campus near Tambaram on GST Road.
The company aims to consolidate its operations in three of its own buildings at MEPZ, Sholinganallur, and Siruseri, giving up leased spaces across Chennai. This move is part of its efforts to optimize its real estate portfolio.
