Bengaluru has solidified its position as India’s premier hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), according to a report by TeamLease Digital. The city is home to 36% of the firm’s client base and boasts an impressive 37% of India’s high-tech talent concentration.
Bengaluru’s growth extends beyond IT, with a significant presence in manufacturing, particularly in automotive and electronics. Professional services, including BFSI and consulting companies, account for 21% of the city’s headcount. Mumbai/Pune and Delhi NCR trail Bengaluru as key GCC hubs, with the former driving growth in the automotive sector and the latter witnessing a rise in high-tech and software firm GCCs.
Neeti Sharma, CEO of TeamLease Digital, highlighted the remarkable growth in sectors like healthcare, BFSI, and retail, with cumulative CAGRs exceeding 30% between 2021 and 2023. The GCC software and internet sector is projected to reach a CAGR of 6.2% by 2027, while retail and e-commerce are expected to lead with an 8.4% CAGR.
The report underscores Bengaluru’s dominance in India’s GCC landscape, with other cities playing important roles in specific industries.
