Apple is set to launch its smallest Mac Mini computer this year, featuring the latest M4 and M4 Pro chips. According to a report by Bloomberg, the new Mac Mini will be significantly smaller than its predecessors, similar in size to an Apple TV. This will be the first major design change since 2010.
The new Mac Mini is expected to have an aluminum shell and feature Type-C ports, a power cable, and an HDMI port. Apple has reportedly tested these features and is planning to launch two versions: one with the standard M4 chip and one with the M4 Pro chip. The base model is expected to start shipping to suppliers this month, while the high-end model may not be ready until October.
This launch will mark the first time Apple’s Mac lineup will feature the same M4 chip as the iPad Pro. The new Mac Mini is expected to be a significant upgrade, with one insider describing it as “essentially an iPad Pro in a small box”.
