Andhra Pradesh is wooing electronics giant Foxconn to establish a “manufacturing city” in the state. IT Minister Nara Lokesh met with Foxconn representatives, promising a dedicated policy framework, subsidies, and a new electronics policy to incentivize the sector.
Lokesh highlighted the state’s resources and successful track record in attracting investments, citing the Kia Motors plant as an example. Foxconn’s Indian representative, Vi Li, acknowledged the efforts of the previous government and expressed interest in exploring opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
